During the last 20 years the modern tourist urbanisation of Vilamoura has been carefully developed maintaining generous open green spaces.

The centre piece is the yachting marina and quayside which provides a busy and lively atmosphere throughout the year. The casino and hotels are built around the marina area and inland the villas and small ‘villages ‘ are laid out in quieter areas amongst the pine trees and golf courses.

Vilamoura has two fine beaches: the Marina beach in front of the hotels Atlantis and Marinhotel with fine golden sand and good facilities: and Falesia beach to the west which is a long stretch of beach with good parking.

The sports facilities are excellent. Apart from golf, there are excellent tennis centres, water sports, sea fishing, and crown green bowling.

There are ample restaurants of all types in the centre of Vilamoura, including a good selection along the water front.

Two floodlit tennis courts a second communal pool and barbecue area. Very convenient for water sports on the lake. 1km from the Ria Formosa nature reserve.

Interiors are of a very high standard with air conditioning, cable television, marble finishes and Bosch kitchens. The resort has a tennis court and there is a poolside bar during summer season.

There is a superb 18 hole golf course with plans for a further 18 holes. (Buggies are compulsory.)
